Woodpeckers class is our class for our Y5/6 children. In the mornings, children in this class are taught English, Maths, Science, RE, ICT and Grammar in a small group of around 10 children, by the Headteacher, Mrs Overton, and a teaching assistant, Mrs Digby.   In the afternoons, Woodpeckers Class joins Robins Class (Y3/4) for PE, topic, music and art.

There is a focus topic for each half term or term.  The topic for Autumn Term 2017 is The Ancient Greeks.

Children in Woodpeckers Class are encouraged to develop independent learning skills through regularly using our two internet based learning sites - Active Learn and Mathletics.  Links to these can be found on the website under the Pupil tab.  Children are also encouraged to read each day; to practise spellings and to learn their times tables.

In school, Woodpeckers are encouraged to take responsibility for aspects of school life such as running the tuck shop, organising collective worship each day and writing the monthly newsletter.
