Our Successes

In May, during SATs, all of our children performed very well.  87% of our Y6 children scored at or above age related expectations in Reading, Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling, with many achieving very high scores.   This is despite a new testing and assessment regime that is far more challenging than previously, and we are very proud of each of our pupils.

This year, we have spent time looking at our values, and what is important to us as a school.  We have updated our ethos statement and values, both of which can be found on the Our School tab under 'Mission Statement and Aims'.

The work of our PTA has been a huge success this year, with fabulous Christmas and Summer Fetes and a Camping Weekend standing out as real highlights of the year.

In addition to this, we have begun to work on reinstating our school swimming pool, and a committed and enthusiastic committee has been set up to plan next steps.

From last September,  our school meals have been cooked on site, and the children have been busy choosing their favourite menus.  Our school meals are very popular thanks to Mrs Harvey, our cook!

This year, we have increased the number of after school clubs we run, with at least one club after school each day and one at lunchtime each day.

This year, pupils have raised funds for Children in Need, St Helena's Hospice, Sports Relief, Christian Aid Big Brekkie and Colchester Foodbank.
